Slay the Spire 2 Enters Early Access on March 5

Slay the Spire 2 will enter Early Access on Steam on March 5, the studio announced, the same day Marathon and Pokémon Pokopia launch. For players interested in more than one of those releases, the timing may force choices about how to spend the day. The announcement comes with a pretty slick animated trailer showing its various class characters kicking ass, but there’s also a bit of gross fantasy violence in there, so viewer discretion is advised.

The sequel was originally due for Early Access last year before being delayed into March. Mega Crit said the delay resulted from a combination of personal life disruptions and a desire to add more to the game, and the team stressed it was not part of the spree of delays tied to Hollow Knight: Silksong.

"There’s no single dramatic reason," the announcement read.
