People reports the Smithsonian Institution's National Portrait Gallery is showing an updated portrait of President Donald Trump in its “America's Presidents” exhibition, and the new placard omits earlier text that mentioned his two impeachments and the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S.

Capitol. The black-and-white photograph was taken by White House photographer Daniel Torok, according to The Washington Post, and replaces an earlier portrait by Washington Post photojournalist Matt McClain. The previous caption — described by The Washington Post as stating, 'Impeached twice, on charges of abuse of power and incitement of insurrection after supporters attacked the U.S.

Capitol on January 6, 2021, he was acquitted by the Senate in both trials' — has been replaced by a shorter label that simply notes Trump’s years in office. Other presidents’ portraits in the gallery are accompanied by placards describing events during their terms, including Bill Clinton's impeachment.
