SNL's 1,000th Episode: Alexander Skarsgård Hosts, Cardi B Performs Jan. 31

A new episode of Saturday Night Live — the third of 2026 and the show's 1,000th episode — airs Saturday, Jan. 31 at 11:30/10:30c on NBC and streams the next day on Peacock, with Alexander Skarsgård hosting and Cardi B as the musical guest.

SNL returned from hiatus on Jan. 17 with host Finn Wolfhard and musical guest A$AP Rocky, including surprise appearances from Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sabrina Carpenter and Jason Momoa. Newly Oscar‑nominated Teyana Taylor hosted on Jan. 24 with musical guests Geese.

Skarsgård is making his SNL debut amid two movie releases: The Moment, which hit theaters Jan. 30 in which he stars as Charli XCX's tour director, and Pillion, premiering Feb. 6, described in the listing as a kinky romcom about two bikers. Cardi B returns to SNL for the first time since her April 7, 2018 performance, when she was the musical guest with host Chadwick Boseman and promoted her album Invasion of Privacy.
