Solasta 2 expands D&D Ready Action to more spells and uses
Developers say Solasta 2 will offer a more faithful implementation of the D&D Ready Action, the rule that lets a character delay their Action and burn a Reaction when a specified trigger occurs. Combat in D&D relies on an action economy of Move, Action, Bonus Action and Reactions, and Ready effectively turns an Action into a conditional Reaction.
The first Solasta allowed Ready for melee or ranged attacks and for spell cantrips. At the start of early access, Ready will also work with single-target spells, and the team plans to expand it later to area-of-effect and multi-target spells. The stream even showed a character using Ready to cast Cure Wounds on an ally as it moved closer.
