Beincrypto reports that John Daghita, known online as 'Lick', is allegedly linked to the theft of more than $40 million from government seizure addresses. The incident involves his father, who leads CMDSS, a Virginia-based IT firm awarded a 2024 contract to assist the U.S. Marshals Service with managing and disposing of seized and forfeited crypto assets.

Blockchain investigator ZachXBT has reportedly traced at least $23 million to a single wallet that connects to suspected thefts totaling more than $90 million spanning 2024 and late 2025. The outlet says Daghita remained active on Telegram, flaunting assets tied to the alleged theft before removing NFT usernames and changing his screen name, while CMDSS deleted its X and LinkedIn accounts and scrubbed employee information from its website. CMDSS’s existing contracts with the Department of Defense and the Department of Justice have prompted calls for audits and greater transparency.

The exact mechanics of the alleged theft remain unclear; investigators are reportedly probing both technical and organizational aspects and examining CMDSS’s operational protocols and the extent to which its government contracts may have facilitated access to seized crypto assets.
