Sophie Turner unveiled as Lara Croft in new Tomb Raider series first look

Movieweb reports Amazon MGM Studios has revealed a first look at Sophie Turner wearing the iconic Lara Croft costume for a new Tomb Raider series.

Filming is just beginning on the latest take on the '90s video game franchise, which follows archaeologist Lara Croft as she uncovers buried treasures, dark conspiracies and encounters with both man and beast. Turner takes on the role previously played in live-action by Angelina Jolie in two movies and Alicia Vikander, and the character was voiced by Hayley Atwell in Netflix's animated series.

Turner leads a cast that includes Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Bill Paterson, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, Celia Imrie and August Wittgenstein. The first look presents a classic take on the character, including shades.

With filming only just beginning, further details such as a release date and additional plot information have not been announced.
