Collider reports that Amazon MGM Studios has announced production is underway on Tomb Raider, its Prime Video series based on the video game franchise, and released a first-look image of Sophie Turner as Lara Croft in her classic gear.

Amazon MGM Studios also confirmed key cast members: Jason Isaacs will play Atlas DeMornay, Lara’s uncle, and Sigourney Weaver stars as Evelyn Wallis. Additional casting includes Martin Bobb-Semple as Zip, Bill Paterson as Winston, Jack Bannon as Gerry, John Heffernan as David, Celia Imrie as Francine, Paterson Joseph as Thomas Warner, Sasha Luss as Sasha, Juliette Motamed as Georgia, and August Wittgenstein as Lukas.

The Tomb Raider franchise has appeared across film, animation, and television since Lara Croft debuted in video games in 1996. The character first reached live action with Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life (2003), films the source says were financially successful but not overly well received by critics, and the franchise was later rebooted with 2018’s Tomb Raider starring Alicia Vikander in a grounded, survival-focused take inspired by the modern games.
