Spider-Man: Homecoming tops Pluto TV charts and is free to stream
Collider reports that Spider-Man: Homecoming is currently free to stream on Pluto TV and ranks at the #1 spot on Pluto's Top 10 charts, according to Pluto TV. The film follows Tom Holland's Peter Parker as he tries to prove he's Avengers material after aiding Tony Stark in a climactic battle during Captain America: Civil War, while Stark pushes him to be a "friendly neighborhood Spider-Man." That tension leads to conflict with Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton), who scavenges wreckage from superhero battles to build hi-tech weaponry.
The movie has been praised in the report for its heart, humor and a fresh take on Peter's struggle to balance personal life and heroics, and features Marisa Tomei, Laura Harrier, Jacob Batalon, Zendaya, Martin Starr, Hannibal Buress and Donald Glover in supporting roles. Homecoming was born from a landmark deal between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios after the less-than-stellar reception to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 prompted Sony to rethink its approach.
Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige said during a press junket for Avengers: Age of Ultron that "It will not be an origin story," allowing the film to explore Peter's place in the MCU and to have him interact with other heroes across sequels such as Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
