Announced at The Game Awards 2025, Star Wars Galactic Racer is a high-octane racing game set in the Outer Rim and is due to launch later in 2026, promising a modern arcade racing experience in the Star Wars universe. Developer Fuse Games — led by CEO and co-founder Matt Webster — says the team wants to serve "this style of high speed, intense, aggressive, track-based arcade racing" for modern HD gamers.

Webster told GamesRadar+ the game riffs off Burnout's "pick up and play" ethos while offering "real depth across all the systems," including progression aligned with mastery and replayability. Webster explicitly confirmed Podracing will be included: "You can’t really make a Star Wars racing experience and not have Podracing, can you?" He added Galactic Racer will lean into multiple vehicle types and "multiple expressions of speed" across solo and multiplayer modes, letting players pilot both familiar and new craft.

Galactic Racer’s primary viewpoint is third person — a camera Fuse says it has invested heavily in because it "drives so much of our game feel." The game will also offer perspectives that bring players "closer to the vehicle" and a first-person pilot view to amplify immersion and situational awareness.

The Outer Rim setting means customization and modifications play a role: Fuse teases cosmetic options and performance tuning so players can build and show off their own racecraft.
