Starfleet Academy deserves a flashback episode for Doctor, Dax and Ake

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy has revived characters from the franchise's classic era while placing its story in the 32nd century. Robert Picardo's Doctor, a hologram first seen in Voyager and later in Prodigy Season 2, is functionally near-immortal after being brought online in the 24th century, and Holly Hunter's Captain Nahla Ake is over 400 years old thanks to her half-Lanthanite lineage.

Episode 5, "Series Acclimation Mil," added Tawny Newsome's Illa Dax to that mix, creating a trio whose shared past could fill its own episode. The Dax symbiont has been joined with many hosts across Star Trek canon, including Jadzia (Terry Farrell) and Ezri (Nicole de Boer), and Illa now carries the memories of all previous hosts.

That makes Dax effectively the oldest member of the group and offers the most narrative flexibility. Flashbacks reaching back beyond Ezri could reveal a number of unseen hosts and untold adventures.
