Steelers begin coaching search after Mike Tomlin steps down
Cbssports reports the Pittsburgh Steelers have begun a search to replace Mike Tomlin after he stepped down as head coach.
Tomlin left following the team's loss to the Texans in Wild Card Weekend and after 19 seasons leading the franchise. The Steelers have requested interviews with Nate Scheelhaase, Chris Shula, Anthony Weaver, Brian Flores and Jesse Minter.
The move is part of a broader NFL shakeup: the Giants and Titans already had vacancies and six teams were dismissed on Black Monday (Falcons, Browns, Cardinals, Raiders, Ravens and Dolphins), leaving more than a quarter of the league searching for new head coaches. No hire has been announced for Pittsburgh.
