According to Deadline, Story Kitchen is partnering with Roblox to develop a movie adaptation of the breakout Roblox game Steal a Brainrot; the project is in early development.

MovieWeb reports the game was first developed by SpyderSammy in May 2025. Gameplay centers on collecting Brainrots, with players able to collect, buy and steal them from one another, creating fast-paced, competitive sessions.

The article says Steal a Brainrot has become one of Roblox’s biggest hits, racking up more than 55 billion visits since debut and peaking at a concurrent player count of 25.8 million in October 2025, driven by an active, often comical community.

Story Kitchen has teased the film will embrace the game’s fun, silly antics. MovieWeb noted the adaptation could look to capitalize on recent video game movie success—citing titles like A Minecraft Movie—and that similar projects are part of a packed 2026 slate.

No plot details for the Steal a Brainrot movie were given, and MovieWeb says further details will be forthcoming as the project develops; the outlet also suggested the game’s popularity could help drive box office interest, particularly among younger audiences.
