Stranger Things: The First Shadow to Be Filmed for Netflix
Netflix will professionally film Stranger Things: The First Shadow for a future release, and a week of performances has been cancelled from Tuesday, February 10 to Saturday, February 14 to facilitate filming. The filmed production will feature the Tony Award-winning production’s original cast, including Louis McCartney, T.R.
Knight, Gabrielle Nevaeh and Alex Breaux (who played a different role on the fifth season of Stranger Things). The play centers on the origin of Henry Creel Jr., the psychokinetic resident of Hawkins, Indiana, who later became Vecna. As his powers grow, a shadowy entity from another dimension exerts influence; a teenage Jim Hopper and Joyce investigate while Dr.
Martin Brenner of the Hawkins National Laboratory studies Henry. Henry’s first stirrings of romance and his struggle to control his paranormal abilities form the emotional core of the story. Written by Kate Trefry from a story by her, Matt and Ross Duffer, and Jack Thorne, the production is directed by Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin.
