Sucker for Love: Crush Landing demo shows dating an eldritch god isn't simple
I love an obscure dating simulator, so the ritual-performing, eldritch-abomination courting of Sucker for Love has long appealed to me. I spent hours flirting with L'neta in the first game and more time than I like to admit running through the house to satisfy Rhok'zan in the second, and the demo for Sucker for Love: Crush Landing continues that streak.
After you've sacrificed your hand, you meet Hheily — a shapeshifting, somewhat human love interest who is charming but can't communicate with the protagonist as seamlessly and often seems confused. The demo relies on coloured items around your apartment — purple grapes, red gifts, a green plant and blue crawfish — and once Hheily consumes an item of a given colour you can no longer feed her other items of that colour, which quickly narrows your options.
I tried throwing whatever I had into the fire, but the game makes you think about order and choice.
