S.W.A.T. Exiles Moves Forward With New Cast Additions
CBS’ S.W.A.T. spin-off, S.W.A.T. Exiles, is taking shape after the original series faced a surprise cancellation last spring following an eight-season run. Rather than reuniting the old team, the new series follows Shemar Moore’s Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson as he trains up-and-coming professionals in a new setting.
Billed as the S.W.A.T. universe’s take on Top Gun: Maverick, the offshoot will largely introduce fresh faces while bringing back a few familiar characters for guest turns. Jay Harrington and Patrick St. Esprit will reprise their roles as Sergeant David ‘Deacon’ Kay and Commander Robert Hicks, respectively.
New additions announced so far include Zyra Gorecki, Ronen Rubinstein, Lucy Barrett, Adain Bradley, and Freddy Miyares. A recent report says Selma Blair and Jerry O’Connell will join the cast as guest stars in undisclosed roles, and David Lim is returning to reprise Officer III Victor Tan after criticizing Moore’s departure from the original series.
