Sydney Sweeney opens up about private 7½-year romance with ex Jonathan Davino
Sydney Sweeney said she kept her long relationship with ex-fiancé Jonathan Davino “very private,” telling Cosmopolitan in an interview published Thursday that she was in a relationship for seven and a half years and never talked about it. The actress became engaged to Davino in March 2022; they called off the engagement and parted ways by March 2025.
“I was in a relationship for a very long time, for seven and a half years, and I never talked about it. I was very private,” Sweeney, 28, told Cosmopolitan. “No one would ever see us. I think it’s important to have some things for myself.” At the time of the split, sources told Us Weekly the pair were experiencing “major issues,” with Sweeney reportedly “extremely busy” and unable to “handle the stress” of wedding planning.
By May, Sweeney — who recently announced her new lingerie line, Syrn — told the Sunday Times she was “learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I’m loving it.” In the Cosmopolitan interview Sweeney also outlined what she looks for in a partner: “Athletic and outgoing and funny.
