Sydney Sweeney says lingerie line Syrn 'isn't for guys,' is about reclaiming bodies
Sydney Sweeney tells Cosmopolitan in its Love Issue — published days after the launch of her lingerie line Syrn — that the collection "isn't for guys" and is part of reclaiming her body and narrative.
Speaking about whose "gaze" she’s prioritizing, Sweeney said critics might assume the brand is aimed at men but pushed back: "People will say, 'Oh, she's doing this for guys' or 'Oh, she's a guy's girl.' But I'm like, 'What is more girl's girl than owning your body and doing it for yourself?'"
The Cosmo spread features Sweeney wearing pieces from Syrn. The shoot begins with a Syrn black lace bra ($54) and briefs ($29) with a sheer skirt and fuzzy bolero, and includes another black lace bra ($89) and thong set ($19). The line offers bra sizes from 30-38 A-DDD/F and underwear from XXS to 3X.
Sweeney framed the brand as empowerment: "This is me reclaiming my body and my narrative and using it to empower other women," and added, "I want to show women that we can take back our power and fully free ourselves." She also recalled first buying an underwire bra in sixth grade and addressed past commentary about a bikini top she wore in the 2023 romcom Anyone But You.
The article notes Sweeney has staged provocative publicity stunts for the launch, including racy images on the streets of Los Angeles. The interview does not detail what Sweeney’s next steps for Syrn will be.
