Sydney Sweeney Thriller Overtakes 'Sinners' at Global Box Office — Collider

Two months after its December release, The Housemaid has overtaken Ryan Coogler's Sinners at the worldwide box office. The twisty thriller, led by Sydney Sweeney, opened strongly, earned positive reviews and held its ground longer than many expected. After two full months in theaters The Housemaid has grossed $125 million domestically and $372 million worldwide against a reported $35 million budget.

That total edges past Sinners, which finished its run at $369 million against a budget of around $100 million; Sinners had been released eight months earlier and earned 16 Oscar nominations while performing well on PVOD and streaming charts. Directed by Paul Feig and also starring Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar, The Housemaid holds a "Certified Fresh" 74% critics' score and a "Verified Hot" 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
