Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir Critique 30 Rock Skaters

Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski, who have served as analysts during the 2026 Winter Olympics, also presided over a 2014 Late Night with Seth Meyers segment that turned their expert gaze toward tourists skating outside 30 Rock. They gave unsuspecting visitors playful nicknames and assigned countries, praising one skater dubbed Albert Belarusa from Lithuania for his skate-walking and texting while leaning against a wall.

When a pair skated holding hands, Lipinski said, "They almost look like they're dating." Weir disagreed: "I don't agree. I find that he's phoning it in. You should be able to feel the sex appeal coming off. This is figure skating! It's pageantry, and they don't have it." A bundled-up child received compliments for youthful energy and a skate-and-fall routine, though the duo noted she "didn't bring anything new to the ice." On one hand, it's terrifying to imagine Lipinski and Weir might be watching and studying our less-than-stellar skating abilities.
