TCL QM9K mini‑LED rivals OLEDs, lab testing shows — Latest news

The TCL QM9K is on sale now for $1,799 and represents the brand’s latest mini‑LED flagship before the upcoming co‑owned Bravia models arrive in 2027. It runs Google TV for streaming, voice controls and screen sharing, and TCL positions the panel’s improved contrast and brightness as a match for OLED screens in bright rooms.

The panel uses 6,000 precision dimming zones, a peak brightness of 6,500 nits, an anti‑glare matte screen and an upgraded LED array, yielding a stated 7,000:1 contrast ratio. TCL says the QM9K can reproduce up to 100% of the DCI‑P3 color space and ships with factory calibration; the set also features integrated audio tuned with Bang & Olufsen.

In lab testing in Louisville, Kentucky, measurements taken with a Calman sensor and camera system examined color accuracy, white balance, brightness and contrast across Standard, Filmmaker/Movie and Game modes.
