Ted Lasso returns to Apple TV this summer — Ted will coach a second-division women's team
Apple TV has announced that Ted Lasso will return for a fourth season this summer, with the show’s central plot sending Ted to coach a second-division women’s football team.
The series, which became Apple TV’s breakout hit and seemed to wrap with a third season in 2023, will continue after co-creators Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein agreed to return in 2025.
Per Apple TV's synopsis: "Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would."
Jason Sudeikis is set to reprise Ted Lasso alongside Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift and Brett Goldstein. New cast additions listed by Apple TV include Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely.
The show has been praised for its warm tone and performances and holds an overall 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with Season 2 peaking at 98%. The site’s consensus on Season 3 said it "takes time to find its footing, but patient viewers who believe will find that they appreciate Coach as much as ever."
Apple TV says the fourth season will premiere this summer; viewers can catch up with the Emmy-winning previous seasons until then, and Collider will provide further updates as they emerge.
