Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles join Magic with videogame-inspired Commander deck
Magic: The Gathering's next Universes Beyond crossover brings the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to the game's New York City plane. The set includes a pre-constructed five-color Commander deck inspired by TMNT videogames, with cards such as Game Over, Level Up, High Score and Arcade Cabinet; some cards feature pixel art by Kirokaze.
A Turtle Team-Up box supports co-op play for up to four players, with each person choosing a deck themed around an individual Turtle to work together against bosses. The box includes difficulty levels designed to help players build up to the full rules, offering a way to teach Magic to newcomers.
New mechanics arrive with the set. Sneak is a keyword that lets you play cards when an opponent is selecting blockers, substituting the new card for an attacker you bounce back into your hand—similar to the Ninjutsu mechanic from Kamigawa but covering instants and sorceries as well as creatures.
