Terraria 1.4.5 'Bigger & Boulder' update is live after three years in the works

Pcgamer reports that Terraria's 1.4.5 update, titled Bigger & Boulder, is now live.

The update was announced in 2022 and was scheduled to release in 2023, but what began as a Dead Cells crossover pack expanded into a much larger project that took just over three years to develop. The patch notes are extensive; the developers said the notes are of "near biblical proportions."

The update notes caution that not everything is listed: "As always, we never share everything that is in each update," and added that it's "not even in the 'full' changelog. Part of the fun is in the discovery!" ReLogic also introduced a new "skyblock" world seed, which it said "introduces entirely new gameplay dynamics and rules—when resources are scarce and you are one misstep from a plummet to your doom, you will have to learn all new ways to work your way to the end."

Some content is intentionally left undisclosed, so players are expected to find additional surprises through play rather than from a complete public changelog.
