'The Batman Part II' Writer Says Sequel Is 'New and Dangerous' — Movieweb

The Batman Part II is still more than a year and a half away from hitting cinemas in 2027, but expectation for the sequel is already building. Co-writer Mattson Tomlin shared a brief update on his X account, writing: “We worked exceptionally hard to tell a story worthy of the character.

Something that feels new and dangerous. The bar couldn't be higher. Looking forward to people seeing it and being able to talk about it at length. Can't begin to describe what this film means to me.” Recent casting developments include Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan joining the project, while Zoë Kravitz will not return as Catwoman and Cristin Milioti's Sofia Falcone will not be part of the new movie.

Colin Farrell has suggested Oz Cobb will have a small appearance, and Barry Keoghn is expected to reprise his brief Joker cameo. James Gunn has repeatedly stated that Robert Pattinson's Bruce Wayne will not be the DCU's Batman and that there will be no crossover between the two franchises.
