The best weapon types in Nioh 3
The best Nioh 3 weapons depend on which style you use: Samurai and Ninja each have seven weapon types. Samurai leans toward heavier, hard-hitting tools with movesets built around guarding and burst breaks, while Ninja favors agility and faster attacks that can strike from behind.
All weapons have their purpose, but some prove more universally effective depending on build and stat rolls. For the Samurai, three standouts are the Odachi, Dual Swords and Spear. The Odachi is a tremendously heavy greatsword that deals immense damage when it connects but punishes missed attacks; it shines in high stance and benefits from Ki recovery or reduced Ki consumption, with strong martial arts such as Moonlit Snow, Retrograde Flow and Bolting Boar.
Dual Swords offer much faster attacks and bring a more agile approach to the Samurai, trading per-swing damage for speed and combo potential; effective martial arts include Punish the Proud, Earthrender and Spinning Dragon.
