The Masked Singer season 14 to premiere Jan. 7 with new 'America’s Insider' twist
People reports The Masked Singer season 14 premieres on Jan. 7 and introduces a new twist called "America’s Insider," in which one contestant’s identity will be known only to viewers while the panelists continue to guess.
The season returns with panelists Rita Ora, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke and host Nick Cannon. The Jan. 7 premiere will feature Ora performing the song "Golden" from the animated movie KPop Demon Hunters; Jeong voiced a role in that film. Descendants star Kylie Cantrall will fill the America’s Insider role, and 18 contestants will compete for the golden mask trophy. According to Entertainment Weekly, some new characters include Queen Corgi, Cat Witch, Galaxy Girl and Owl, and, per Variety, the season will include themed nights inspired by franchises such as Star Trek, Twilight, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Care Bears, Clueless and the Spice Girls, plus a special Ozzfest tribute featuring Kelly Osbourne.
A weekly episode release schedule has not been fully revealed, though the second episode airs Jan. 14 as "Fear Night" with a special appearance by Johnny Knoxville; Fear Factor: House of Fear will premiere that same night following The Masked Singer. New episodes air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET, the total number of episodes has not been confirmed, and the series airs on Fox and is available to stream on Hulu and on Disney+ with the Hulu on Disney+ bundle.
