The Next Horizon Game Is A Colorful Three-Player Co-Op Game
The next game in the Horizon franchise departs from the open-world formula of Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West. Horizon Hunters Gathering is a solo or cooperative action-focused hunting game with a vibrant art style and no release date. Players won’t be stepping into Aloy’s shoes or exploring large, photorealistic worlds this time.
It’s presented as a tactical co-op action game for up to three players, with solo play supported by NPC bots. Each hunt challenges players to pick a Hunter from a roster of characters with different melee and ranged weapons and abilities, while a rogue-lite perk system lets you build out your character during each run.
Between hunts, a large, vibrant social hub is where players meet up, prep for missions, customize Hunters, visit shops and upgrade items before heading back out. The game will launch on PS5 and PC and will support crossplay and cross progression across console and PC.
