Director: The Night Manager season 3 is already in development
Collider reports that director Georgi Banks-Davies said a third season of Tom Hiddleston's spy drama The Night Manager is already in the works as the series returned this week with its second season.
Banks-Davies said: "There was a third season that was always in the offing. David [Farr] is writing it now — he's at the coalface and in the early stage. But yeah, when the second season came, the plan was to go to three. So, when you see our whole series, you'll see it can sit entirely alone but can also sit very much as the second book in the trilogy." The show is based on John le Carré's novel and follows former British soldier Jonathan Pine; in Season 2 Pine is using the alias Alex Goodwin to oversee a London operation, gather intelligence on high-profile criminals and attempt to infiltrate a Colombian arms cartel against a post-Brexit UK backdrop.
Season 2 sees Tom Hiddleston return alongside Olivia Colman as intelligence officer Angela Burr, with Alistair Petrie, Douglas Hodge, Michael Nardone, Noah Jupe, Diego Calva, Camila Morrone, Indira Varma, Paul Chahidi and Hayley Squires also listed in the new season. Season 2 streams on Prime Video worldwide.
