‘The Pitt’ Season 2 Episode 4 recap: nearby hospital closure sends patients to the Pitt
Sean T. Collins reviews Season 2, Episode 4 (“10:00 A.M.”) of The Pitt in a Jan. 29, 2026 recap, in which a nearby hospital temporarily closes its doors and redirects patients and chaos to the Pitt. The recap says the hospital’s closure turns security guard Ahmad into a bookie, offering three betting lines — why the hospital shut, how long it will stay closed, and how many patients will be sent to the Pitt.
Collins also notes a subplot in which Dr. McKay asks out a younger patient. The review describes several medical mishaps: Langdon’s attempted case is eclipsed when Javadi, described as an emergency-room influencer, takes charge; Ogilvie misidentifies and partially removes a large shard of glass, triggering arterial bleeding and rattling him; and a cutaway suggests Dr.
Garcia and Dr. Santos may be romantically involved, the recap says. Other scenes the recap highlights include burgeoning chemistry between Dr. Al-Hashimi and Dr. Robby, Robby’s ongoing relationship with the hospital case manager Noelle and his lingering feelings for a former colleague, patient-turning moments such as a heart-attack rescue by Whitaker, a dropped vial of blood by a new nurse, and Joy cutting herself on glass.
Collins writes that the episode foregrounds teachable moments: the gap in health coverage for families who are too poor to buy insurance but not poor enough for Medicaid, addressing deaf patients directly, and the underdiagnosis of eating disorders in Black women.
