The Pitt treats Allegheny General Hospital staff to coffee and sandwiches ahead of season 2
People reports executives of The Pitt treated staff at Allegheny General Hospital to coffee and sandwiches ahead of the show's season 2 premiere on Thursday, Jan. 8; the medical facility serves as the backdrop for the Pittsburgh-based HBO drama.
In a social post shared Tuesday, Jan. 6, medical professionals at AGH were shown smiling as they received coffee and treats as a "thanks" from HBO Max and Warner Bros. TV. An Instagram carousel from the hospital opened with a staff member toasting his cup and included photos of canned coffee beverages, pastries and other employees enjoying their treats; The Roaming Bean said staff were also given a "free sandwich of their choice." Dr. Brent Rau, emergency department medical director at AGH, said the series does a very good job of being medically accurate and showing the human side, per the Post-Gazette, and staff members told CBS News the cast often visits the hospital.
The series stars Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch and won best drama series at the 2025 Emmys in September after earning 13 nominations. Season 2 is 15 episodes long, will follow one 15-hour shift in the emergency department on July 4, and kicks off on Jan. 8 on HBO Max, with new episodes released weekly through April 16.
