The Rookie S8E6 Teases a Chilling Serial Killer's Return and a Deadly Curse

The curse leads to a cascade of dangerous mishaps—pepper spray, allergic spider bites and, by episode's end, a near-fatal encounter—until Celina's boyfriend pays the shopkeeper to lift it.

Meanwhile the squad responds to a swan boat set ablaze and uncovers a string of fires themed around Swan Lake. Bailey identifies the incidents as arson and the investigation points to Arnold McKenna and his protégé Mandy Fisk; Mandy and her girlfriend were starting fires as a form of flirtation.

The threat escalates when McKenna plants an explosive under a station vehicle. The blast injures multiple officers; Celina suffers a glass wound while Lucy, Celina and others pull colleagues from the rubble. McKenna is arrested after turning up at the hospital.
