The Sims 4 has stepped up its login-reward events and limited-time challenges. Login rewards unlock exclusive items for logging in across multiple days, while limited-time challenges ask players to complete in-game actions for XP that can be redeemed for exclusive loot.

That model clashes with how many players actually play: people often dive in for a week or two—creating Sims and houses—then stop until a new update or DLC brings them back, only to find they've missed the current event. More recently, some limited-time rewards can only be used if you own specific DLC.

The Lost Legacies Event offers items such as the Glittering Fairy Princess Gown (1,100 XP) and the Draped Memorial Display Table (320 XP), but those items remain inaccessible unless you buy the corresponding $40 expansion packs—Enchanted by Nature and Life & Death.
