Pcgamer reported that The Sims 4 expansion Royalty and Legacy will launch on February 12, 2026, priced at $40. The pack centres on creating family dynasties, earning prestige, and responding to scandals. Players who buy the expansion before March 15 will also receive two bonus kits: Tea Time Solarium and Silver Screen Style.

The reveal trailer shows three main families and hints at a new "scandals" system, meters for dynastic "prestige" and "unity", and ornamental swords; a gameplay trailer is scheduled for January 22 to show more of the nobility system. Details about the dynasty system include choosing "values", designating an heir and an outcast (the source says this "seems to imply just one?"), usurping the head of family, expelling a Sim, and earning "Prestige" to unlock perks at level milestones.

Scandals such as bad behaviour or infidelity can lower Prestige, and players can respond by issuing an apology, denying it online, or writing a book.
