The Studio wins Best TV Comedy at Golden Globes; Rogen and Jean Smart also take acting awards
Collider reports that The Studio won Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes, while Seth Rogen won Best Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy and Jean Smart won Best Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for Hacks.
The Studio beat last year’s winner Hacks, The Bear, Abbott Elementary, newcomer Nobody Wants This and Only Murders in the Building; Rogen beat Steve Martin and Martin Short, Jeremy Allen White, Adam Brody and Glen Powell. On the AppleTV series, Rogen plays Matt Remick, the new head of fictional Continental Studios, navigating an increasingly IP-dominated movie landscape amid celebrity cameos and inside‑Hollywood gags. Jean Smart’s win is her third for Hacks and came on her fourth nomination; the series has been renewed for a fifth and final season. Ricky Gervais won Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television for his Netflix special Mortality. Supporting awards went to Owen Cooper (Adolescence) for Supporting Actor and Erin Doherty (Adolescence) for Supporting Actress, each beating a field that included performers from The White Lotus, The Studio and Hacks.
The Studio is now streaming on AppleTV, and Hacks is streaming on HBO Max.
