They Spun a Globe on Their First Date, and Kept Their Promise

After drinks at a SoHo rooftop bar and the evening at his apartment, they discovered their birthdays fell on Sept. 5 and 6, spun a globe and vowed that wherever their finger landed in Africa would be their trip if they were still together. They saw each other nearly every day after a second date, became exclusive by Memorial Day weekend 2023 and took their first trip together to Morocco later that year.

In March 2024 they moved in together in Manhattan’s Financial District. That December Mr. Dimitro proposed at Yves with a brilliant-cut diamond ring, and Ms. Richter FaceTimed her grandmother, Marilyn Richter, to share the news.
