Three Movies to Watch on Netflix This Week
Following the recent box office success of Emerald Fennell's Wuthering Heights, here are three films available on US Netflix to watch this week. Moulin Rouge (2001) is Baz Luhrmann's visually extravagant musical that follows Ewan McGregor's penniless poet Christian as he falls for the most beautiful showgirl at Paris's famed Moulin Rouge.
Nicole Kidman gives one of her best-ever performances, and the film won two Academy Awards in 2002. Rotten Tomatoes: 75%; IMDb: 7.5/10. After Hours (1985), directed by Martin Scorsese, tracks the worst night in the life of word processor Paul Hackett (Griffin Dunne) after a chance meeting with Marcy (Rosanna Arquette) in a Manhattan café.
The indie dark comedy is often cited as one of Scorsese's funniest films and features a strong supporting turn from Catherine O'Hara. Rotten Tomatoes: 90%; IMDb: 7.6/10. Homefront (2013) stars Jason Statham as former DEA agent Phil Broker, whose move to a quiet town brings him into conflict with drugs and violence when his daughter is put in danger.
