tModLoader will take months to reach full compatibility with Terraria 1.4.5
Terraria's 1.4.5 update arrived in January, introducing an overhauled crafting interface, a new world seed, updated visuals, crossover items with Palworld and Dead Cells, and a host of new objects, mobs and secrets. The patch has been well received, but players will need to wait for full mod compatibility.
Mod support depends on tModLoader, an open-source addon that helps create and play mods and has an enormous user base. As with many mod projects, the 1.4.5 changes have produced compatibility issues that will take time to resolve. Updating tModLoader for the previous 1.4.4 patch took nine months, though the creators say they do not expect the 1.4.5 port to be as extensive because fewer large changes are required.
Modders have asked the community for patience. "The short answer to this is 'no'." They add that modders will have ample opportunity to update their mods to v.1.4.5 before its official release, so maintained mods should be available once there is a stable release.
