Todd Howard calls Fallout season 2's Power Armor "the most badass"
The Fallout TV show introduced a new Power Armor in season 2, a moment franchise steward Todd Howard described as "the most badass Power Armor I think we've ever done." Its appearance was a standout in the streaming series.
Dubbed the New California Republic Power Armor, the suit appeared in Fallout canon for the first time; it hadn't shown up in any of the games when the episode aired and its presence helps recontextualize the NCR as a major post-apocalyptic player.
The video game version has been more divisive. It is available only through a Fallout 76 DLC bundle priced at $30/£27 and largely consisting of cosmetics, and some have questioned its inclusion in a prequel game since the NCR didn't exist yet.
