Tom Brady says divorce made his final NFL season difficult
Tom Brady said his divorce from Gisele Bündchen made the final year of his NFL career rough, Pagesix reports. Speaking to MLFootball, which posted the interview on X Thursday, Brady, 48, said, "My last season was tough," and that he was dealing with "a lot of, you know, a personal family issue."
Brady, who finalized his divorce from Bündchen in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage, noted he had first retired in February 2022, returned to play briefly for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and then left the NFL permanently in 2023. He said family considerations guided his decision to step away, saying he "always had a goal — 45" and wanted to spend time at his kids' games; he added he "tried to put as much as I could into it," felt he owed teammates and coaches everything he had, and wished the ending could have been "a little bit better."
Brady shares two children with Bündchen, Benjamin, 16, and Vivian, 13, and a son, Jack, 18, with ex-partner Bridget Moynahan. Bündchen married jiu jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente in December after welcoming their first child together in early 2025. Brady has most recently been linked to Alix Earle; the outlet said Earle, 25, and Brady, 48, spent time together at a New Years Eve yacht party and that an insider said they later left a larger group to talk in a private cabin. He was also previously linked to model Irina Shayk.
