Tom Hardy’s Gritty Crime Saga Levels Up in Season 2 — Collider

At a red carpet appearance at the BFI Southbank in London, Emmett J. Scanlan offered a brisk update on MobLand’s second season. "If you liked Season 1, penned incredibly by Jez Butterworth, then Season 2 is Season 1 on steroids! It is insane, it's bananas," he told Hello!

Magazine, adding that "the scripts are fantastic." Season 1 was already packed with backroom betrayals, explosive violence, and that cold-blooded London turf war between the Harrigans and the Stevensons, so the promise of something more intense feels ominous. Scanlan said he gets to go toe-to-toe with Pierce Brosnan and shares scenes with Helen Mirren and Tom Hardy, calling Brosnan "an absolute delight" and "so warm, so welcoming, and so nurturing and such an artist." He added that working alongside performers of that calibre "makes every day a school day." Season 2 doesn’t have a release date yet and plot details are being guarded tightly, but Scanlan confirmed his character is returning and most of the core cast appear likely to be back.
