Tony Goldwyn’s Ghost Role Now Streaming Free on Tubi

Collider reports that Ghost, the 1990 blockbuster featuring Tony Goldwyn as Carl Bruner, is now available to stream for free on Tubi in the US.

The supernatural romance stars Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg and was directed by Jerry Zucker. The film mixes elements of romance, crime thriller and buddy movie tropes, holds a 76% score on Rotten Tomatoes, became the highest-grossing film of its year and won two Oscars: Goldberg for Best Supporting Actress and Bruce Joel Rubin for Best Original Screenplay. In the story, banker Sam Wheat (Swayze) is fatally shot and, as a ghost, discovers his friend Carl (Goldwyn) arranged the robbery; Sam enlists psychic Oda Mae Brown (Goldberg) to stop Carl and protect Molly (Moore).

Ghost helped launch Goldwyn’s film profile but also led to him being typecast as a cinematic villain; Goldwyn told Yahoo! Entertainment in 2020 that audiences reacted strongly to his character and recalled being treated rudely in public. Ghost is streaming on Tubi in the US. Release date: July 13, 1990.
