Tottenham’s Champions League preparations rocked by injuries and car crash
Thomas Frank’s preparations for Tottenham’s Champions League trip to Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday night were disrupted by injuries to Pedro Porro and Micky van de Ven and a car crash involving Randal Kolo Muani and Wilson Odobert. Frank said Kolo Muani and Odobert were fine after pictures on social media showed them standing by a black Ferrari with significant front‑end damage.
It is understood the car belonged to Kolo Muani and suffered a tyre blowout on the motorway; Odobert, following in a separate vehicle, stopped to check on him. The players were travelling from the Spurs training ground to Stansted and did not board the team flight, taking a different flight to Frankfurt later on Tuesday night.
Frank said: 'Kolo Muani and Wilson Odobert are both fine. Unfortunately they were both involved in a minor accident ... everyone else involved in that accident was fine. It was a tyre blowing up and so the two of them are a little bit delayed. But they will land later tonight. I haven't spoken to them personally yet.
The first message is that they are fine and nothing happened. I fully expect both to be available for tomorrow.' Porro will be out for four weeks with a hamstring injury after coming off at half‑time against Burnley, Frank said.
