Goal reports Tottenham Hotspur have rejected a loan bid from Roma for centre-back Radu Dragusin, who recently returned from nearly a year out with an ACL injury and had been linked with a return to Serie A.

The 23-year-old has been included in Thomas Frank's last six matchday squads but has come off the bench just once, and Mail Sport says Spurs may opt to keep him this January after turning down Roma's approach. Dragusin shone at Genoa before his move to Spurs and became the most expensive Romanian player in history with a £21.5m transfer in January 2024; he was largely a back-up under Ange Postecoglou but played regularly during a defensive injury crisis last season. His agent Florin Manea told Rai Sport he was 'waiting for Tottenham to say yes to Roma' and that 'there are a couple of offers', while Fabrizio Romano, as relayed by GiveMeSport, reported the player had already said yes to a move to Roma.

Whether Spurs will sanction another move, possibly on a permanent basis, remains to be seen; otherwise Dragusin will aim to impress Frank for more first-team opportunities. Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero remain first choice at centre-back but have been linked with moves away, Mathys Tel is also reportedly exploring exits, and Spurs' 2-1 FA Cup defeat by Aston Villa has added to the pressure on Frank.
