'Toy Story 5' trailer reveals Lilypad, a frog-themed tablet villain

In the new "Toy Story 5" trailer, the toys meet their most formidable competitor yet: a screen, embodied by a frog-themed tablet called Lilypad. Bonnie receives the device and is almost instantly absorbed, scrolling and tapping with a glazed look as her analog toys watch from the sidelines.

The clip builds to a face-off between Jessie and Lilypad; Jessie says, "You're not even listening to me," and the tablet replies, "I'm always listening." Jessie, voiced by Joan Cusack, has led the toys since Woody left at the end of "Toy Story 4," and the gang brings their old — and now balding — leader back.

Woody cautions, "Toys are for play, but tech is for everything." The film is set for release on June 19, with Tom Hanks and Tim Allen returning as Woody and Buzz. The storyline taps into a broader debate about how screens are reshaping childhood.
