UK judge rules Old School RuneScape gold counts in theft judgment
Pcgamer reports a UK judge ruled that stealing gold pieces in Old School RuneScape counted for the purposes of at least one judgment made on Jan. 14.
The case involves an ex-employee of RuneScape developer Jagex who is accused of hacking 68 player accounts and seizing hundreds of billions of gold pieces, which he then sold outside the game for Bitcoin; Jagex argued the gold was worth over $700,000.
The report says the judgment was spotted by Gamesradar and does not set out further legal outcomes beyond that ruling.
