U.S. names 16 skaters for 2026 Milan Winter Olympics
People reports Team USAs figure skating roster is set: on Sunday, Jan. 11, 16 athletes were named after the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in St. Louis to represent the United States at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan next month. The delegation comprises three men, three women, three ice dance teams and two pairs teams.
The men are Maxim Naumov, Ilia Malinin and Andrew Torgashev; the women are Amber Glenn, Alysa Liu and Isabeau Levito. Ice dance entries are Madison Chock and Evan Bates, Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik, and Christina Carreira and Anthony Ponomarenko, while the pairs teams are Ellie Kam and Daniel OShea, and Emily Chan and Spencer Akira Howe.
U.S. Figure Skating said the selection process took into account performances over the past two seasons. Glenn, 26, is the oldest female U.S. singles skater in 98 years and said, "Im looking forward to this journey. Its been a long, very difficult road." Maxim Naumov, who lost both of his parents in the Washington, D.C., plane crash nearly one year ago, secured his Olympic spot; at the team announcement he said, "I really hope that my mom watched because she never used to watch me skate.
