Vanity Fair halves Oscar party guest list; Trump administration excluded
Vanity Fair has cut its Oscar party guest list by approximately 50 percent. No Trump administration officials have been invited this year. The change comes under new editor Mark Giudicci, who took over in June 2025 and has pared the list to separate the true A-list of moviedom from the merely famous and powerful.
The Vanity Fair Oscars party began in 1994 under Graydon Carter and originally hosted about 100 guests, including Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Anjelica Huston, Prince, Robert De Niro, Anthony Hopkins and Nancy Reagan. Over time it grew to include brand partners, media buyers, press and industry-adjacent plus-ones.
Giudicci’s profile of Susie Wiles and Melania Trump’s new documentary did not bring White House guests into the room.
