Vantor elevation models added to Satellite Data Explorer
NASA’s Commercial Satellite Data Acquisition (CSDA) Program has added three digital elevation products from Vantor’s Precision3D product line to its Satellite Data Explorer (SDX). The offerings are a 1‑meter Digital Surface Model (DSM), a 1‑meter Digital Terrain Model (DTM), and an Elevation Bundle combining DSM and DTM at 1‑, 2‑ and 4‑meter resolutions.
The DSM, derived from imagery captured by Vantor’s constellation of Worldview satellites, provides precise measurements across all surfaces and is available in standard formats for integration into workflows such as urban planning, environmental monitoring, disaster mitigation and terrain mapping.
The DTM is produced from the DSM to deliver bare‑earth elevations by removing vegetation and buildings; automated processing ensures consistency across terrain types and the product is distributed in user‑friendly formats. The Elevation Bundle combines above‑ground detail and the underlying bare earth, offers global coverage, and supports applications from slope analysis to flood modeling.
