Retired NFL tight end Vernon Davis responded Friday after a criminal complaint obtained by TMZ accused him of attacking a pregnant woman on multiple occasions last year. "I'm aware and saddened by the reporting and look forward to clearing my name," Davis wrote on Instagram on Jan.

30. According to a criminal complaint filed on Jan. 8 and obtained by TMZ, an unidentified woman claims she was at Davis' home on May 31, 2025 when a fight broke out over her pregnancy. The complaint, per TMZ, says she alleges she was repeatedly hit with "magazines + books from under his TV" and that Davis stopped when she pulled out her phone to record; she says he allegedly offered her $10,000 afterward.

TMZ cited the complaint saying another alleged incident occurred on June 7, 2025, when the woman accused Davis of lying and says he slapped her and told her not to question him. She reportedly recorded a later conversation in which Davis allegedly said, "If I really slapped you, your face would be blue/black." The complaint also alleges a separate physical altercation days before May 31 that left visible bruises and occurred before she learned she was pregnant; the woman reportedly told TMZ there is an open strangulation and assault case.

TMZ reported that a warrant was issued for Davis' arrest on Jan. 8 for assault and battery, and that he is slated to appear in court in February.
