Veronica Mars, including its divisive final season, lands on Netflix
Veronica Mars, the mid-aughts noir-tinged teen drama starring Kristen Bell, is now available on Netflix with the extra, and controversial, fourth season included. The series built a devoted following for its sharp blend of mystery and high-school melodrama. Bell plays the sharp-witted teen detective Veronica, daughter of former sheriff-turned-private investigator Keith Mars (Enrico Colantoni).
The show opens with the murder of Veronica’s best friend Lilly Kane (Amanda Seyfried) and the fallout when Keith accuses the Kane family, costing him his career and leaving Veronica socially ostracized and estranged from her boyfriend Duncan (Teddy Dunn). Jason Dohring’s Logan begins as an antagonist and gradually becomes Veronica’s on-screen partner and romantic center.
A 2014 fan-funded film gave the characters a renewed arc and helped bring the series back for a fourth season on Hulu.
